Jerry Meola, well-known owner of Pelican Coast Farms, an organic grower of orchids, leads this class.  The discussion begins with learning about non-traditional plants that can be successfully grown in our Florida heat.  Learn how you can grow many plants considered impossible such as evergreen day-lilies, bred for our unique SW Florida climate.

Did you know you could grow orchids in your perennial garden? Several types of terrestrial orchids will be discussed and shown, some of which flower throughout the year. Special emphasis will be made on various growing techniques for perennial beds, and using the same plants in decorative pottery for poolside and patio.
