One of the many perks of Florida living is being able to pick delicious and nutritional fruit off our own backyard citrus trees. And don't forget the wonderfully fragrant blossoms.
Have you been thinking about purchasing a citrus tree but you don't know which one to choose? Do you want a citrus tree that is everbearing? Cold hardy? Self pollinating? April or January harvest season? Super sweet? Good for juice? To grow in a container? Seedless? Peels easily?
Robert Riefer is a certified crop advisor for the University of Florida and is knowlegeable on growing citrus in SW Florida. Robert will share practical advice regarding the essentials of successfully growing citrus trees. His discussion will include selecting the appropriate citrus; where, when and how to plant; proper maintenance and nutrition; and much more. He will also discuss how to indentify and treat citrus pests. You'll leave the class with a wealth of information for growing the healthiest and best producing citrus trees in your own backyard.
