Bamboo Made Simple II Class
Saturday, July 18, 2009 @ 10AM - FREE
Riverland Nursery, Fort Myers, FL
Explore the many types and applications of non-invasive tropical clumping bamboo in our homes and landscapes. These bamboos are quite new to our Florida landscapes and participants will be introduced to the most colorful, beautiful and practical varieties.
The workshop will be conducted by Scott Freedman who owns Green Thumbs Palms located in Labelle, Florida. Scott has been exploring and growing the most suitable bamboo varieties for our area for more than five years.
Participants will learn the differences between non-invasive clumping bamboo and invasive running bamboo. Each bamboo has its ideal use and purpose. Small runners make beautiful potted specimens, or spectacular low light houseplants. Many tropical clumping bamboos are ideally suited for privacy hedges or as ornamental specimens in the landscape.
