Identifying & Controlling Unwanted Garden Pests
Saturday, February 4, 2012 @ 10:00 am - FREE
Riverland Nursery, Fort Myers, FL
Bugs. They can be big, tiny, beneficial, harmful or just annoying. Florida has lots of them. If you are not paying attention, insects can quickly devastate trees, palms, shrubs, flowers, or lawns. Bob Cook, an instructor for the Florida Certified Horticulture Professional program, will teach class participants how to identify and control “uninvited” insects, fungus and other garden challenges.

Success with Citrus
Saturday, February 18, 2012 @ 10AM - FREE
Instructor: Robert Riefer
One of the many perks of Florida living is being able to pick delicious and nutritional fruit off our own backyard citrus trees. And don't forget the wonderfully fragrant blossoms.
Have you been thinking about purchasing a citrus tree but you don't know which one to choose? Do you want a citrus tree that is everbearing? Cold hardy? Self pollinating? April or January harvest season? Super sweet? Good for juice? To grow in a container? Seedless? Peels easily?
Riverland Nursery is SW Florida’s premier garden center and nursery specializing in native and other sustainable plants which can flourish in Florida's unique and often arid climate. These are plants that require low amounts of irrigation once established, resistance to pests and cold, and require less physical maintenance.
Visit our expansive nursery; cool-off in our air-conditioned lobby; stroll through lovely demonstration gardens featuring Florida native plants, unique bamboo, cold-resistant plants and palms, delicious edibles, great plants for privacy, and a magical butterfly garden.
Hundreds of plants are displayed with information about their unique growth habits and characteristics such as their abilities to withstand cold, pests and drought. We have an awesome selection of citrus and other edible plants, non-invasive bamboo, succulents, Florida natives, shade and ornamental trees, great vines, and so much more.
